Job Responsibilities
  • Clean Guest cabins twice daily; day service and turndown service; 12- 15 cabins per day; 24-60 beds per day within 5 hours on port days (6 ½ hour shifts in a.m. & 5 hour shifts in p.m.)
  • Responsible for cleanliness of assigned Guest staterooms; this includes but is not limited to:
  • Making beds
  • Cleaning bathrooms & toilets
  • Vacuuming
  • Dusting
  • Cleaning windows and mirrors
  • Replenishing linens, towels and room amenities
  • Ensuring general maintenance of stateroom
  • Cleaning stateroom Verandahs
  • Removal/breakdown of room service trays, dishes and glassware
  • Clean assigned Guest corridors, trolleys and lockers
  • Handle and distribute Guest luggage up to 60 - 75 pieces(7 day cruises) on embarkation days and between 10 p.m. &1 a.m. on the evening before debarkation
  • Create “special touches" in guest staterooms by creating towel animals, displaying birthday buttons, etc…
  • Responsible for reporting all deficiencies for repair and maintenance using shipboard reporting systems
  • Assist in any other Housekeeping/Custodial area based on operational need
  • Work with various chemicals and cleaners such as virox and lemon lift
  • Operate in line with all USPH guidelines
  • Maintain constant focus on the cleanliness of the corridors and surroundings, and report any deficiencies
  • Work extended hours (12-16 hours on embarkation days)
  • Turnaround 12-15 rooms on embark days

Required/Desired: Experience,Qualifications, Education, Licenses

  • Housekeeping experience cleaning 10-15 rooms daily
  • Previous experience working in an operation with high standards of Guest service and cleanliness, (i.e. 5 star or deluxe hotels or ships)
  • Ship experience preferred
  • Must be physically able to handle 50+ lbs luggage
  • Ability to interact with children and attend their needs
