Responsibilities

  • Follow recipe standards, correct usage and care of equipment, proper storage and stock rotation
  • Ensure preparation and presentation of all products on the restaurant's menus as directed by Demi Chef de Partie and Chef de Partie
  • Prep and peel vegetables, slice cheese, prepare salads
  • Collect pots and pans, and complete other general culinary duties as assigned
  • Rotate through various galley sections on a bi-monthly basis
  • Clean and sanitize work station according to USPH standards
  • Actively participate in all Castaway Cay job responsibilities associated with position and line of business as directed by DCL leadership

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum two years recent cooking experience (this may include apprenticeship time) in a large, high-volume production kitchen (200+ covers per meal period, preferred)
  • Flexibility to work in any section of the kitchen and rotate positions as well as working in cold prep rooms, necessary
  • Be at least 21 years of age and able to speak, read and write fluent English
  • Willingness to live and work onboard one of our vessels for a certain length of time (based on position)
  • Be able to work a seven-day, 70-84 hour week with limited time off
  • Be able to adhere to Disney Cruise Line appearance guidelines
  • Agree to share a cabin with other crew members

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal Culinary education, preferred
  • Ship experience a plus
  • Hygiene certification preferable
